Looking back, our original intention of making waterproof motors was simply because the customer's application scenario involved water, so we customized an integrated motor with an IP65 protection level. Later, we found that many customers had similar needs, such as mechanical processing, outdoor lighting, automated irrigation, and other outdoor scenes, so we turned them into standard products, and the STMP57/STMP42 waterproof series were gradually introduced to the market.
As time goes by, the STMP57 series has finally received a major upgrade—featuring multi-turn encoders, built-in brakes, EtherCAT bus, and an extended operating temperature range.

01. Highly Integrated Design
In terms of appearance, the STMP57 series integrated stepper servo motors have seen improvements in housing material and cable outlet design. The body shell is made of alloy material with an electrophoretic coating, offering excellent pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. The head is the stepper motor body, the middle part houses the brake, and the rear area is a powerful drive control module integrating multiple components.
The communication and power cables are routed from the upper axial position using aviation plug interfaces. Paired with specially designed elbow cables for the STMP57 series, this effectively solves cable management issues, making the most of limited production space and improving production layout flexibility.
02. IP65 Protection Level
The STMP57 waterproof series integrated stepper servo motors feature an IP65 protection level, effectively preventing water splashes and completely blocking external dust ingress. This ensures stable operation even in extremely humid environments, unaffected by wind and rain, greatly expanding application scenarios.

03. EtherCAT / CANopen / RS485 Bus
While pursuing waterproof performance and wide temperature range, we always adhere to ultimate performance requirements. The carefully crafted new-generation STMP57 series not only inherits all the advantages of its predecessors but also achieves a major breakthrough in communication technology.
It is equipped with the latest bus communication technology, adding EtherCAT bus support alongside the original CANopen or RS485 communication, achieving higher response speeds and providing users with a smoother, more efficient operating experience. This offers strong technical support for real-time data transmission and control in various complex application scenarios.
One-to-many control of integrated motors can be easily achieved via bus communication. The STMP57 series integrated stepper servo motors can connect to various control devices such as motion controllers, PLCs, motion control cards, and industrial PCs, making equipment wiring simpler and more convenient.
04. Single-Turn / Multi-Turn Absolute Encoder
The STMP57 series products feature a built-in 17-bit single-turn or multi-turn absolute encoder. Even after the motor loses power, the encoder can continue working for a period of time using the internal battery, recording and saving position information, and the current absolute position is known upon power-on.
Key functions of the absolute encoder include: recording position information after power loss, providing absolute position upon power-on, and flexibly setting prohibited entry ranges to avoid restricted areas during homing, making control simpler.
05. Built-in Brake
The STMP57 series integrated stepper servo motors feature an embedded brake design, eliminating the need for external brake wiring, reducing wiring time, and improving debugging efficiency.
Equipped with gravity recognition and gravity preset functions, it effectively prevents load dropping due to its own weight or external forces when the brake releases. Additionally, after multiple optimizations and calibrations, the brake output delay time is shorter, and load stopping is more precise.
06. Wide Operating Temperature Range
The standard operating temperature range for integrated motors is typically set at 0℃~40℃. This standard suits most conventional industrial environments, ensuring stable operation and optimal performance within this range.
However, as industrial technology advances and application scenarios diversify, requirements for motor operating temperature are increasing. In extreme climates or special industrial environments, conventional integrated motors often fall short.
To address this challenge, we have added the STMPW57 wide-temperature model to the STMP57 series. These motors have been comprehensively upgraded in design and manufacturing, with particular optimization of thermal management and heat dissipation, greatly expanding their operating temperature range.
The STMPW series wide-temperature motors can operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -40℃ to 75℃. This range not only covers conventional industrial environments but also handles harsh conditions of extreme cold or high heat, ensuring stable operation and excellent performance in these extreme environments.
07. NiMStudio Host Computer Debugging Software
The STMP57 series fully supports NiMStudio host computer debugging software. The software features an intuitive, user-friendly interface and powerful functions, making motor debugging and operation easier and faster.
Through the software, users can easily perform:
Communication testing (supporting EtherCAT, CANopen, and RS485)
Parameter reading and writing (setting various parameters including speed, position, etc.)
Control mode operation (supporting CiA402 and NiMotion modes for different application needs)
Cloud upgrades (including Studio software upgrades, configuration file upgrades, historical version downloads, firmware upgrades, device description file downloads, and factory parameter restoration)
08. Multiple Motion Control Modes
The STMP57 series not only supports basic motion control functions but also offers a variety of advanced control modes including PP, PV, PT, VM, HM, IP, CSP, CSV, CST, etc., providing users with more flexible and precise motion control solutions.
