NIM_ModbusUtils is a Modbus utility library developed by NiMotion for efficient Modbus protocol communication in industrial automation systems. It provides a comprehensive set of function blocks for Modbus RTU and TCP communication, including read/write operations, data parsing, and error handling. The library simplifies Modbus integration and reduces development time for motion control and PLC applications.

In Modbus communication, data is based on registers (unsigned 16-bit), but user programs often require additional data types such as SINT, USINT, INT, UINT, DINT, UDINT, and REAL, necessitating type conversion between them. Since the Modbus protocol does not strictly define byte order, conversions can be cumbersome and error-prone across devices from different manufacturers. To address this, NiMotion has developed corresponding byte-order conversion functions and encapsulated them into the NIM_ModbusUtils library. Users can directly call these functions in their programs to achieve byte-order transmission as needed.
