Yes. The servo controller can detect external load variations and, when a set resistance is encountered, can execute actions such as stopping, returning, or maintaining a certain thrust. This is a key advantage of closed‑loop servo control.
With an incremental encoder driver, the actual position value is not retained after power‑off; a homing routine is required on each startup. A single‑turn absolute encoder retains the position without a battery (but if the shaft rotates more than half a turn after power‑off, the position is lost). A multi‑turn absolute encoder retains the position without a battery (but if the shaft rotates more than 2048 turns after power‑off, the position is lost).
